| This report summarizes the side event organaized by the Public Works Research Institute at the occasion of 2nd Asia and Pacific Hydrology and Water Resources Conference,held in Suntec Singapore on 5-8 July 2004. The workshop was @articipated by a large number of Asian institutes and universities as well as representatives from the UNESCO-IHP International Hydrologic Programme and the World Water Assessment Programme(WWAP).In addition to the valuable inputs from the invited experts, the open discussion animated by all the participants have raised invaluable inputs to identify the future directions of the international center for water hazard and risk management(ICHARM)to be established in PWRI under the auspices of UNESCO. |
