| On-street construction works such as pavement repair, road facility maintenance and laying of sewerage and other pipelines are essential to create infrastructure to guarantee safe and smooth road traffic and to support the daily lives of residents. On the other hand, because these works are executed on the street in use, it inflicts severe traffic congestion, and other negative impacts such as noise and vibration on the surrounding area. The authors have studied a method of predicting the impact of on-street construction work on road traffic and proposed its evaluation method by converting it to a monetary value. A series of trial calculations using proposed method was conducted to examine the impact on road traffic depending on the construction processes or the way of traffic regulations. The effectiveness of new construction method on the reduction of adverse impact was also evaluated by proposed method. |
