| "The Pursat River Basin (Basin Area: 6,013 km2) is located at the south west of the Tonle Sap Lake which is the largest freshwater lake on the Indochina Peninsula. Because the hydrologic data is poor in this area, the hydrologic characteristic of this area still remains unclear and it is difficult to manage flood and water resource. In this study, the applicability of global satellite precipitation data named 3B42RT which has been developed by NASA recently was examined. The observed discharge was compared with the estimated discharge which was calculated by inputting 3B42RT into PWRI Distributed Model. In conclusion, it is found that the application of 3B42RT for management of flood and water resources is difficult at present without any support of ground rainfall data. At the same time, it is also found that the accuracy of 3B42RT have become better gradually." |
