| "Tunnel permanent lining has various functions such as improvement of serviceability, uncertain conditions during and after construction and expectation of mechanical capacity. Full-scale test and numerical analysis concerning tunnel lining have been performed and some mechanical characteristics were clarified. However, some phenomena like spalling of concrete debris from lining have occurred in Japan recently, not resulting from mechanical reason. Both mechanical and non-mechanical function should be satisfied simultaneously to propose the design method of proper lining structure.Laboratory experiments were carried out to clarify the mechanism of crack on tunnel lining compared with the result both from plain concrete and steel fiber reinforced concrete (SFRC). Influence of material and environmental condition on the occurrence of crack was grasped. Steel fiber reinforcement was expected to slack the occurrence and the development of crack by shrinkage from the result of experiments. Experiment constructions were also carried out to grasp the behavior of tunnel lining with SFRC. The effect of reinforcement by SFRC was found in terms of constraining the width of crack on site." |
