| A large number of loading tests on RC member with the corroded reinforcing steel have been performed in many research institutes up to now. However, a large dispersion of loading test results and some differences in the simulating technique and the measuring method of the corrosion often prevent an obvious quantitative relationship between the amount of the corrosion and the structural performance. In the research committee on Structural Performance of Deteriorated Concrete Structures by JSCE-331, the benchmark test with the common testing procedure on the load-carrying behavior of RC member deteriorated by the corrosion of the reinforcing steel was proposed. The benchmark test has been conducted by nine institutes. In this paper, the longitudinal distribution of the cross-sectional area of corroded reinforcement and the load-carrying capacity of the corroded RC beam were discussed from the viewpoint of the dispersion in test results on the RC beam with the corroded reinforcement. |
