| This study revealed that the landslides induced by the Mid-Niigata Prefecture earthquake occurred mostly within pre-existing landslide topographies, and landslides occurred intensively on hanging wall of the earthquake fault. Most of the deep-seated landslides occurred on slopes with bedrock consist of sandstone, sandstone and mudstone alternation area. In geomorphological context, longitudinal convexity, largest erosion depth and lower part inclination were related to occurrence of the landslides. In geological context, the landslide occurrence ratio is higher in sandstone areas, sandstone and mudstone alternation areas relatively, compared to those of mudstone areas; and landslides tend to occur on dip slopes. The same tendency was concluded that in the cases of relatively larger landslides induced by the Chuetsu-offshore earthquake. |
