| Main purpose of this study is developing the method to derive shear velocity in actual river during flooding, which has characteristics of unsteady/non-uniform and sometime dangerous condition. For this purpose, authors consider Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) is only tool to obtain the value in such a flow condition. Therefore, we conducted an experimental study using ADCP withmobile bed condition. Three different shear velocities are compared, such as 1) by water surface slope, 2) log law based on ADCP measurements, and 3) authors’algorism. Additionally, for rification purposes, above three values were compared with bed-load velocity, can be considered as movement of sand obtained by ADCP. In the meantime, we have conducted some field measurement with thesame system during small and medium flooding. We understand those results and knowledge from this paper help to understand the flow properties during flooding in actual rivers. |
