| Authors have been developing of Rapid Rainfall Estimation (RRE) detecting very local heavy storms、which so called “guerrilla” type storms. The rainfall estimation is not only rapid、but with short time leading time (e.g.、next 10 to 20 minutes)、as well as very approximate values of estimation、such as for classification、1) huge rainfall with approximately more than 100 mm/h、2) heavy rainfall with approximately 50 mm/h、3) rainfall with approximately 10 mm/h、and 4) small rainfall with approximately less than 1 mm/h. For this purposes、authors analyzed relationships between distributions of water vapor and local heavy storms with employing Grid Point Values (GPV) issued by Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA)、as well as rainfall data obtained by C Band radar as well as X Band Multi Parameter Radar. In this paper、the authors described some examples about relationship between water vapor and heavy storms with considering future possible usage into RRE. |
