In this study, we carried out large-scale triaxial compression tests and large-scale box shear tests under low confining pressure for rock materials. Based on the results of these tests, we investigated the method of evaluating the shear strength of rock materials under low confining pressure conditions. On the basis of these test results, we have carried out a sliding stability analysis, from which it has been clarified that the minimum safety factor is not given by a slip circle with a depth shallower than 5m that had been disregarded in the analysis for the sake of test accuracy. |
