Daily precipitation changes in MRI-AGCM3.1S and 3.2S simulations associated with climate change are evaluated with and without a statistical bias correction using gridded rain gauge data on the lands, aimed to reproduce both seasonal pattern and extreme values. It is difficult to quantitatively evaluate the precipitation change due to climate change without the bias correction, because the differences between both models are very large in present and future climates. After the bias correction, we can evaluate the precipitation change due to climate change more adequately, because the model difference is decreased even in future climate simulation. |
