| In Indonesia, AsButon (natural rock asphalt) has been researched to utilize it for actual pavement works. The estimated amount of AsButon reserved in Indonesia is so huge that its utilization would help the road network to be improved environmentally friendly. On the other hand, in Japan, Trinidad Lake asphalt (TLA) is usually used for bridge deck pavement, while it is so expensive. Therefore AsButon is regarded to be possible alternative for Trinidad Lake asphalt. PWRI and IRE has been conducting 3 year research program since 2011 to seek for better utilisation of AsButon. In this paper, we would like to introduce the general information about AsButon and what we have done until today. |
