| In a case of a shield tunnel constructed in good ground condition, it is presumed that only hydrostatic pressure acts on the segments and the construction loads have a dominant factor in the design of shield tunnel segments. In this study, field measurements at two shield tunnel construction sites in hard clay were carried out and the measured bending moments occurring in the segments were compared with the calculated results using frame analysis to investigate the influence of the construction loads on the the segment design. |
