Tunnel permanent lining using plain concrete is normally applied in road tunnel constructed by mountain tunnelling method and shield tunnelling method. It also ensures the stability of tunnel structure for fire. The road tunnels which use steel fiber reinforced concrete or high strength concrete for lining by mountain tunnelling method and which omit the secondary lining by shield tunnelling method have been emerging recently. The characteristics of lining concrete using such materials under high temperature condition such as tunnel fire should be examined to ensure the safety of both traffic and tunnel structure. In this study, fire-proof characteristics about tunnel permanent lining concrete is investigated by two kinds of experiment to grasp the fundamental behavior of lining concrete such as structural instability, concrete explosion, change of temperature inside lining and strength of concrete. |
