Pharmaceutical compounds at sewage treatment plants are partially only removed; large quantities of residual pharmaceutical compounds remain in wastewater treatment plant effluents. This study investigated the use of the microbial carrier process to perform advanced treatment for the removal of four residual pharmaceutical compounds, triclosan, clarithromycin, azithromycin, and ketoprofen from wastewater treatment plant effluents. |
