抄録
Visualization of the physical stress, strain, and crack using functional material has attracted a lot of attention recently because imaging by visible light is instinctive and clear. Tunable structural color materials are tried to apply for strain sensing applications. In this report, one of them, opal film consist of colloidal photonic crystal were tried to applied for strain deformation and crack visualization by structural color change. The authors demonstrate visualization of strain aluminum metal plate deformation and of mortar crack using the opal film.
