This paper discusses the effects of inadequate compaction near facing on the seismic stability of geogrid reinforced soil walls (GRSWs) with divided facing panel systems. To investigate the effects、 centrifuge shaking table tests were conducted under centrifugal acceleration of 20 G. Seismic loads using Kobe and sinusoidal waves were applied to GRSWs in 12 steps. At each step、 a random wave was applied to estimate the natural frequency of the GRSW after the seismic loadings. Two-dimensional deformations were observed by using displacement gauges and a particle image velocimetry analysis system. It was verified that inadequate compaction near facing caused greater deformation of the GRSW. |
