This study examines results obtained experimentally from two post-tensioned concrete beams subjected to static and dynamictests. The static tests results were used to evaluate the level of flexural performance in the beams. Data obtained from thedynamic tests were used to identify the change in modal parameters that occurred after different performance levels. Staticand dynamic responses of the beams were measured using several instruments including accelerometers, displacement transducers, and strain gauges. A tendon cut was also applied to each beam to observe its influence in the flexural performanceand assess the vibration responses produced at the severing moment. Outcomes of this study demonstrate the correlationbetween performance and cracks propagation in the beams, and also explain the influence of the flexural performance levelon the natural bending frequencies. |
