In order to improve the model accuracy efficiently, we built two inundation analysis models of different scales: the Chao Phraya River basin scale model and the Rojana industrial complexes scale model. Further, we designed the models in the way that flood inundation results at the basin scale can be easily used in the high-resolution industrial complexes scale model. The river basin scale model has the spatial resolution of one-kilometer grid, and it was used by the MERIT Hydro, a spatial resolution of three arc-second of a global hydrography dataset, as topography data. The high-resolution model of industrial complexes scale for nesting used corrected AW3D based on ALOS to have a spatial resolution of 20 meters for the analysis domain of 70 km2 (Latitude: 6.4 km, Longitude: 11 km). We simulated the 2011 flood disaster using these RRI models and ground observed rainfall. We found that it may be difficult to determine the possibility of evacuation, based on the results from the basin scale model, because it is not capable of providing detailed information on inundated roads inside and outside the Rojana industrial park. |
