Lime stabilization is widely used for improving low quality construction generated soil. One of the ways to use those improved soils is to utilize as a filling material of road embankment. Generally, those improved soil contain low lime content and it is susceptible to water infiltration to the embankment. Authors conducted as series of unconfined compression test on lime treated soil with lime contents of 1.2, 2.5 and 3.8 %. In the lime content of 3.8 % a clear reduction of unconfined compressive strength was observed after 336 days1). In addition to that it was observed a continuous leaching of Ca ion to the soaking water. However, the progression of deterioration in lime treated soil is not clearly clarified yet. In this study effect of soaking on deterioration and its progression were studied. |
