We proposed a new idea to measure active source surface waves and passive surface waves sequentially using the same linear geophone array, and named it “Hybrid Surface Wave Survey (HSWS)”method. Surface hitting using a wooden hammer is adopted as the active seismic source for generating high frequency surface waves as well as body waves. Next, traffic noises which are mainly composed of low frequency surface waves, are measured using the same linear geophone array. We combine two dispersion curves, one is caluculated from the active seismic CMP-CC gather data, the other is calculated from passive data by applying CMP-SPAC analytical method. The major advantage of our HSWS is its robustness to traffic noises or active utilization of them vice versa. It means HSWS is applicable for the characterization of a road embankment and the bearing layer by setting the line along trunk, heavy traffic highways. |
